Is it appropriate for sensitive skin?
The ingredients we chose for our formulas are known to be well tolerated by most individuals—as well as including many ingredients that are commonly used to soothe reactive skin. But everyone has sensitivities unique to their skin. So we encourage potential buyers to evaluate the ingredient list prior to purchasing to make sure that they are not personally reactive to any botanical. At this time there is no legal definition or regulation of “hypoallergenic,” “sensitive skin safe,” or “allergen-free.”: That means you must be diligent about reading the product label to ensure you don’t come into contact with your particular allergens.
How do I recycle these products?
Please always check with your local curbside recycling program for your ZIP code, and follow their instructions. This will help ensure that the packing is properly taken care of and given a second life.

The hand cream tube is 46% PCR plastic, the highest amount of PCR blend recommended for this formula.
This body lotion (unscented) is made with sugarcane bioplastic, a plant-based polyethylene. The sugarcane is sustainably harvested and even helps remove 3 times its weight of CO2 from the air in the process. The polyethylene is FDA approved, BPA free, and 100% recyclable.
The body lotion (neroli) is made with 70% PCR plastic, the highest amount of PCR blend recommended for this formula.
When you are finished, cut the tube open to remove excess product—but do not cut the tube in half. After rinsing, group with similar materials to recycle. Again, we encourage you to see how your local program would like you to sort your items.
The cap is plastic, but is too small to be detected by current recycling equipment. Please discard it in the trash.

And while you’re in your right to be wary of certain preservatives (like those with evidence of endocrine disrupting properties), preservatives are a needed component of any water-based formula: water is a breeding ground for bad bacteria. We believe that products should be free from all harmful ingredients—and we consider pathogenic bacteria to be part of that list.
What research has been done on the ingredients?
We used innovative, high-tech active ingredients that were rigorously tested by their manufacturers for efficacy and safety.
For example, the postbiotic ingredient (as Kalibiome Sensitive) was shown in ex vivo tests to improve epidermis integrity resulting in a more efficient skin barrier function and moisture level increase compared to a placebo. In In Vitro tests, it was shown to modulate specific interleukins that are involved in inflammation reduction and skin rejuvenation.
The prebiotic ingredient (as ALGAKTIV BioSkin®) was shown in tests to revitalize the skin, even outperforming epidermal growth factor (EGF), while aiding in balancing the microbiome and calming the skin.
The natural botanicals we selected all have robust research supporting their topical use and benefits for the skin. Just a few examples: published and peer-reviewed reviews of aloe vera show that it’s beneficial for skin hydration, inflammation, and tone. Studies show that shea butter can improve barrier function and reduce inflammation. Finally, topical applications of CoQ10 provide antioxidant effects.
What preservatives are used in this formula?
In our formulas, we use a natural, patented preservative system known as Geogard Ultra®.
It is a synergistic blend of gluconolactone and sodium benzoate that not only has broad spectrum preservation efficacy, but can actually contribute to skin hydration. Most organic preservation acids are too weak on their own and require a co-preservative. In this case, gluconolactone acts as a booster for sodium benzoate by time-releasing gluconic acid so it can be more effective for longer periods of time.
The blend is in compliance with ECOCERT/COSMOS, NATRUE and the Soil Association, organizations that have some of the highest standards in the EU.

I’m interested in trying the neroli-scented body lotion—what should I know about the fragrance?
This well-rounded and bright scent is a sophisticated combination of essential oils, natural extracts, and responsible synthetics. For top notes, you’ll smell bergamot, ylang-ylang, and petitgrain. In the middle, neroli is the predominant note. The base is warm cedarwood.
This fragrance is IFRA 49th Amendment and Prop 65 compliant, the most up-to-date international and domestic fragrance regulatory standards available. It was crafted with integrity and safety—with a family-owned French-based fragrance house that specializes in sustainable and clean fragrances. The fragrance shows up in this lotion at less than 1% of the total formula.
It’s important to take into account many factors when deciding fragrance notes—from responsible sourcing, botanical availability, quality consistency, and potential skin irritation. We took these factors into account as we formulated it.
It’s important to note that people are always sensitive to fragrance, no matter how much caution went into its creation. Again, if we encourage you to stick to the fragrance free formula if you know this to be true about yourself.
