Builds lean muscle mass and promotes cognitive health*
The critical compound your body needs daily, our vegan creatine plays a vital role to support muscle and brain health. Made up of amino acids and naturally occuring in our muscles and brain, creatine is also found in varying amounts in certain foods. With decades of research to demonstrate its safety and efficacy, creatine supplementation has been shown to be an effective targeted strategy for both women and men to support lean muscle mass, strength and exercise performance, cognitive function, and healthy aging. Creatine production and stores decrease with age, making daily replenishment extra critical.*
Taurine
Supports brain, nerve, muscle, and vascular function*
Our vegan taurine is a key functional amino acid with many critical cellular actions in the body including antioxidant support and inflammatory balance, neuroprotective properties, nerve and muscle function, and mitochondrial health. Taurine has also been shown to enhance muscle strength and power, aid in exercise recovery, combat muscular fatigue, and support heart health and vascular function. What’s more, taurine levels can decrease with age, and sufficient levels have been shown to be important for health span and graceful aging.*

Add it to water, blend it in a smoothie, or get creative! Our creatine+ disperses easily in hot and cold liquids and is stable at high temperatures. We recommend you mix 1 scoop with 8-10 ounces of your preferred beverage or as recommended by your health care practitioner. You can take creatine+ on an empty stomach, but some individuals choose to take it with a meal. If pregnant or lactating, consult your health care practitioner before using this product.
What time of day should I take creatine+?
That’s honestly up to you! You can personalize when to take creatine+ at any point in the day. Some choose to take advantage of the benefits of creatine and taurine pre- or post-workout to fuel exercise and promote muscle growth and recovery. Others incorporate creatine+ into other points of their nutrition ritual. You can take creatine+ on an empty stomach, but some individuals choose to take it with a meal. Whatever is most convenient for you! We do recommend consulting with your health care practitioner when incorporating creatine+ into your daily regimen.
Can I take creatine+ every day?
Absolutely! Daily supplementation of creatine supports an increase in creatine stores in the body, and research shows consistency is key. Whether taking it on workout or rest days, creatine+ delivers a streamlined approach to support your muscle and brain health.*
Why would I need or consider a creatine supplement?
Creatine is extensively researched and shown to be effective in supporting exercise performance, recovery, and brain and cognitive function too. This critical compound is not just for bodybuilders, everyone can benefit from its versatile properties! While the body makes creatine and you can get creatine from your diet, creatine levels decrease as one ages, and supplementation offers a way to further support your needs and targeted goals. As it’s very difficult to get the quantities of creatine that show benefits in research through diet alone, our creatine+ supplement delivers a meaningful, science-backed dose – 5 grams per serving – of creatine monohydrate to support lean muscle mass, fuel energy production, and combat muscle soreness.
Additionally, our creatine+ is not just creatine. It also features key functional amino acid taurine! Taurine has many critical cellular actions that play an important role in the nervous system and beyond. It provides antioxidant actions, supports inflammatory balance, and also promotes muscle health, mitochondrial health, nerve function, and even heart health (e.g., vascular function and blood pressure). Through this dynamic duo, creatine+ delivers clean and powerful amino acid support daily to enhance your well-being regimen and promote healthy aging and healthspan.*
What is a creatine loading dose phase and is it necessary?
A common question regarding creatine supplementation is whether or not a loading dose phase is necessary to see benefits when first starting out with creatine. A loading dose typically includes supplementing with a high dose of creatine (typically around 20-25 grams a day for five to seven days) followed by a lower maintenance dose (three to five grams a day). Individuals that choose to do the loading dose phase are typically athletes or others looking to increase creatine stores in the body more rapidly. For most people, however, the loading dose phase isn’t necessary because research shows that a lower dose (around five grams a day) is able to support the desired increase in creatine levels, with a more steady and gradual increase over time (typically a few weeks). It is well-established that “maintenance” doses support an increase in intramuscular creatine and promote increases in lean muscle mass, performance, and recovery. Additionally, since creatine can promote the muscles to retain water temporarily, the loading dose phase can be associated with additional increase in body weight due to water retention. Lower maintenance doses can be beneficial in combating this effect.*
Does creatine make you gain weight?
Some individuals may experience a small and short-term increase in weight during the initial period of creatine supplementation. However, this is not cause for concern, an important caveat is that this is not due to fat gain but instead, temporary water weight. Creatine can promote an increase of water storage in the muscles, thus any weight gain would be water weight (not fat) and that is a short-term effect. Additionally, everyone is different – not all individuals will experience water retention when supplementing with creatine. Some studies show that creatine doesn’t have a significant impact on total body water, especially over a longer time period. Sticking to a more modest dose (such as five grams a day) helps mitigate this, as opposed to larger doses (such as a loading dose of 20+ grams). Creatine is also shown to support increases in lean muscle mass which can impact body weight. But hey! Muscles are absolutely critical for health and well-being, so improvements in muscle health is one of the major benefits of supplementing with creatine.*
Is creatine+ vegan?
Yes. creatine+ is also GMO-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and major food allergen-free.
Does creatine+ break my fast?
No, creatine+ does not break your fast. This is because our creatine+ has zero calories and zero macronutrients (carbohydrates, protein, fat), including zero sugar. Also, since our creatine+ is unflavored you can simply add a scoop to your water in the morning and consume it on an empty stomach, it’s really a matter of personal preference! People fast for a variety of reasons including health and well-being rituals and regimens, religious and cultural practices, etc. If your particular type of fasting ritual (e.g., a very strict fast of a religious nature) considers water (or any other non-calorie fluid) to break your fast, than you would want to wait to take creatine+ until after your fasting period. If you have specific concerns regarding adding creatine+ into your personal well-being regimen, we recommend consulting with your health care practitioner before doing so.
Does mindbodygreen offer a refillable program?
Our high-quality formulas are delivered in premium, sustainable, and recyclable packaging (recyclable amber glass bottles and jars, recyclable bags, and recyclable cardboard shipping boxes made from 100% recycled paper). Always looking towards the latest innovations, we carefully and intentionally source our eco-friendly packaging to prioritize the environment, but also to protect the premium ingredients in our capsules, gelcaps, and powders (i.e., vitamins, minerals, botanicals, peptides, probiotics, bioactives) from UV light degradation. This is pivotal to ensure quality standards throughout the lifecycle of the product.
Unfortunately many refillable bags or containers do not provide the same protection and stability for our ingredients as our amber glass (bottles, jars) and PET bags achieve. What's more, the product-specific manufacturing information (i.e., specific identifiers such as the lot and date) stamped on each product would be lost when the customer discards the refill packaging, as is customary. That lost information would not enable us to comply with a variety of very important FDA regulations specific to dietary supplements (e.g., cGMPs, adverse event reporting, etc.), and regulatory compliance is something that mindbodygreen respects and prioritizes. From an additional safety standpoint, there are also microbial contamination concerns with refillable vessels over time. Thank you for your consideration as to why we have thoughtfully curated our packaging in the way we do.
