metabolism+
As part of my new year’s resolutions, I’m focusing more on strength and supporting my muscles this year and beyond, because it only gets harder to build and maintain muscles from here (middle age), ladies and gents!
I used to think creatine+ was for “boys” only, but after using creatine+ along with my whey protein and exercise, I’m feeling and seeing the benefits…stronger, sharper, etc.*
I’ve been hearing more and more about taurine for my brain, muscles, longevity, and more…and along with creatine, i know these 2 important compounds are doing my whole body good.*
This mindbodygreen multi is so complete it makes my last 3 multivitamins look (and actually feel) incomplete.
Read moreNo more gummy multis for me. I'm at the age where making sure I get all my vitamins and minerals every day is top of mind. Plus, there's a B complex and botanicals built into this mindbodygreen multi. I agree with the product name: ultimate. Thank you!*
Finally, a supplement routine I can stick with! And by routine, I mean this 1 amazing, one-stop shop multivitamin.

I love that this multivitamin is suited to everyone and has such a comprehensive lineup of vitamins and minerals, so I can feel confident that I’m getting what I need by taking this daily. Bonus, it’s also easy on my stomach!*
This multi will let me drop several other supps I was taking separately: K2, A , and D3. And my old multi of course.

- Catherine S.Verified BuyerI recommend this productRated 5 out of 5 starsDelivers as Advertised
It took me a while to remember to take these but once I did consistently I noticed that I was no longer looking for food every couple of hours. It really does cut the cravings. And it isn't unusual to forget lunch and I'm not very hungry at dinner. I have not got on the scale but clothes are fitting much better.

2 years of working from home has me sluggish and snacking a little too much! I've been taking this product for a bit and already notice a difference - I notice more consistent energy throughout the day and feel like it's helping curb those afternoon snack cravings.

So far, I really appreciate that I don’t feel jittery or overstimulated, I do feel more satiated quickly, maybe a placebo effect? but overall less bloated and energized in a pleasant way

I’m less hungry (more satisfied, full generally). i also notice a slight bump in energy but thankfully no problems sleeping. I’m only a couple weeks into trying metabolism+, but I even see a subtle impact on my waist just based on clothing fit.

How should I take metabolism+?
Take 2 capsules daily with 8 or more ounces of water following a meal, or as recommended by your health care practitioner. Not recommended if pregnant or lactating. Consult your healthcare practitioner before using metabolism+ or any dietary supplement product. Store the supplement tightly sealed in a cool, dry place without direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
It is not recommended that metabolism+ be taken on an empty stomach. Some of the botanicals in metabolism+ are thermogenic and may produce a slight warming sensation in the stomach. This product may not be a good fit for people with a sensitive stomach or specific gastrointestinal (GI) health considerations, and those individuals should check with their doctor first. Since metabolism+ helps support healthy blood sugar and blood pressure levels, please practice caution and consult your healthcare practitioner before using this supplement if you have any blood sugar or blood pressure concerns, particularly those in the hypoglycemia and hypotensive realm.
Lifestyle and nutritional strategies (such as metabolism+) to support healthy body composition (including a healthy weight and level of adiposity, as well as muscle strength and bone density) over the long term are most effective when combined with daily energy balancing efforts via healthful nutrition and regular physical activity, along with other personalized lifestyle practices.
How much caffeine does metabolism+ provide?
Each serving (2 capsules) of metabolism+ provides 150 mg of caffeine, sourced from green tea leaves. To put this moderate (yet effective) dose in perspective, 150 mg of caffeine is approximately the amount in 1.5 cups (so, around 12 ounces) of coffee, or approximately 2 to 3 cups of tea. That means you would want to drink ~ 1 less cup of coffee (~2 to 3 less cups of tea, etc.) each day to balance your caffeine intake.
Because caffeine is energizing, we recommend that most customers take metabolism+ in the morning or midday, after a meal and with a full glass of water. (It is NOT recommended that metabolism+ be taken on an empty stomach.) For those who rapidly metabolize caffeine (e.g., you can drink coffee in the afternoon and not have trouble sleeping), you could take metabolism+ as late as the afternoon, but we do not recommend you take it in the evening. We wouldn't want to get in the way of a good night's rest!
Another wonderful mindbodygreen supplements+ product with caffeine (also 150 mg dose) is focus+. While it's totally safe to take metabolism+ and focus+ products together daily, at 300 mg of caffeine combined, that's the caffeine equivalent of about 3 cups of coffee (about 24 ounces). For that reason, you would want to reduce your other caffeine inputs (think: coffee, tea, etc.) to not overdo it!
What time of day should I take metabolism+?
That's honestly up to you! You can take metabolism+ at any point in the day with a full glass of water (or other beverage) following a good meal. It is not recommended that metabolism+ be taken on an empty stomach. Some customers choose to take advantage of the comprehensive metabolic support of this supplement in the morning after breakfast, while others fold it into their afternoon nutrition ritual after lunch. Because metabolism+ provides 150 mg of caffeine (from green tea leaves) in each serving, many customers choose to avoid taking metabolism+ too late in their day due to its energizing impact. This is especially prudent for folks who don’t metabolize caffeine rapidly.*
What is metabolism?
Metabolism, in simple terms, is the vital process by which the body converts the nutrition we consume from our diet (foods and beverages) into energy to fuel our bodies every day. This energy is essential for driving “basic” bodily functions (e.g., digestion and absorption of nutrients in our gut, breathing, our heart beating, blood circulating throughout our vasculature, etc.), complex physiological pathways in our cells and tissues (e.g., RNA transcription into various proteins, DNA synthesis, neuron signals in our brain, etc.), as well as physical actions that require more energy like physical activity, immune responses, and healing. Metabolism as a whole is truly vast and relies on numerous, diverse biochemical components.
Metabolism and metabolic rate are closely related. Metabolic rate can be broken down into different components including resting metabolic rate, thermogenesis, and energy burned during physical activity. Resting metabolic rate (also known as resting energy expenditure) refers to the amount of energy burned (i.e., calories burned) when the body is at rest (remember, all those cells, tissues, and organs doing their thing day in and day out!). This resting energy expenditure (REE), or resting metabolism, happens to make up the bulk of our total daily energy expenditure, or use. Thermogenesis describes the process of heat generation (the primary product of metabolism) that occurs as a result of food intake and activation of certain types of adipose/fat tissue (brown adipose tissue, aka BAT) and supports whole-body energy balance. Energy balance refers to the balance or homeostasis of energy intake and energy expenditure.
Neuroendocrine hormones and cardiometabolic health are also critically important for a healthy and active metabolism throughout life. Neuroendocrine hormone pathways are related to appetite and energy balance. For example, the adipokine leptin regulates metabolic satiety and fullness while another unique adipokine adiponectin promotes fatty acid oxidation (fat burn) and glucose regulation for blood sugar balance. Cardiometabolic health parameters are also pivotal for metabolic function and performance, and these include healthy levels of blood sugar, blood pressure, and blood lipids (total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides).
Daily metabolism and metabolic health not only carry paramount importance for promoting a healthy weight and body composition, but also overall health and well-being. There are many variables that influence the health and performance of our body's metabolism and metabolic rate (i.e., age, body composition, muscle mass, gender, thyroid health, lifestyle, physical activity, dietary patterns, and even our genetics and epigenetics). mbg’s metabolism+ delivers four unique botanicals clinically shown to support multiple, key dimensions of metabolism and metabolic health on a daily basis.*
Why would I consider or need a targeted supplement to support metabolism?
Metabolism is complex and includes countless chemical reactions and pathways that drive essential functions in the body every day. Only a small percentage of Americans (12%) are considered to be metabolically healthy, therefore it is so important to support metabolism and metabolic health on a daily basis! Lifestyle, physical activity, restorative sleep, healthful nutrition habits, and a plant-centric approach are all vital to supporting active metabolism and metabolic health. To further synergize healthy lifestyle and nutrition choices, targeted botanicals support essential components of metabolism and metabolic health. These botanical extracts include veld grape, cayenne pepper, and EGCG plus caffeine from green tea leaves.*
Together, these four plant bioactives in mbg’s metabolism+ plan deliver targeted support to essential, multidimensional components of metabolic health including helping to optimize: metabolic rate (calorie burn), fat metabolism (fat burn and reduced fat storage), appetite (curb cravings and promote satiety), neuroendocrine hormone balance (leptin and adiponectin), cardiometabolic health (blood sugar, blood pressure, and lipids), body composition (weight, waist and hip circumference, and body fat), and overall energy balance. These four botanicals not only work on unique pathways supporting metabolic health but also synergistically to drive metabolism and promote metabolic performance daily.
Does mindbodygreen offer a refillable program?
Our high-quality formulas are delivered in premium, sustainable, and recyclable packaging (recyclable amber glass bottles and jars, recyclable bags, and recyclable cardboard shipping boxes made from 100% recycled paper). Always looking towards the latest innovations, we carefully and intentionally source our eco-friendly packaging to prioritize the environment, but also to protect the premium ingredients in our capsules, gelcaps, and powders (i.e., vitamins, minerals, botanicals, peptides, probiotics, bioactives) from UV light degradation. This is pivotal to ensure quality standards throughout the lifecycle of the product.
Unfortunately many refillable bags or containers do not provide the same protection and stability for our ingredients as our amber glass (bottles, jars) and PET bags achieve. What's more, the product-specific manufacturing information (i.e., specific identifiers such as the lot and date) stamped on each product would be lost when the customer discards the refill packaging, as is customary. That lost information would not enable us to comply with a variety of very important FDA regulations specific to dietary supplements (e.g., cGMPs, adverse event reporting, etc.), and regulatory compliance is something that mindbodygreen respects and prioritizes. From an additional safety standpoint, there are also microbial contamination concerns with refillable vessels over time. Thank you for your consideration as to why we have thoughtfully curated our packaging in the way we do.
Is metabolism+ vegan?
While all of the active ingredient sources are 100% plant-origin (green tea, veld grape, and cayenne pepper), mbg’s metabolism+ is technically vegetarian and not vegan. You see, three of the active ingredients are vegan (i.e., EGCG and caffeine from green tea leaf extract and veld grape stem and leaf extract). But the cayenne pepper fruit extract (Capsimax®) has a protective layer that’s insect-derived and provides targeted, controlled delivery technology. While this patented technology is critically important, it’s technically vegetarian. Thus, the overall product is not technically vegan.
